Been out on a couple of 100 km rides and the comfort level is also higher, as the aluminum S1 was too rigid and you felt every small bump. The cable routing of the S2 is also improved with cables plugged right into the top of the frame behind the headset. Very clean and efficient looking.
The S2 frame is also a lot lighter 300 to 400 grams than the S1, but not sure if that makes any difference. But what does matter is the cleaner aerodynamic lines. I have a few time trials coming up so I will post results compared to my S1 times from last year. Last year I pulled off a 56km time trial averaging 38.7 km/hr on the S1 frame. Let's see what I can do with the S2 frame.
The S2 carbon frame is not painted black, that is raw carbon fiber, which when exposed to bright light has a beautiful iridescent glow of multi-layered carbon fiber. Very cool looking. I will try to post a close up so that you can see what I am talking about.
